About this course

Three-year, part-time postgraduate programmes approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Mumbai University.

No. of Seats: 60 per program

Eligibility Criteria –

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with Minimum 2 years works experience at a supervisory/executive level, after graduation (The 2 year period is calculated from the date of las paper of final examination at the degree level).

  1. Obtain Application Form and Prospectus, available at GNIMS for Rs. 1000/- in cash or Cheque/DD payable in favor of ‘Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies’ (GNIMS).
  2. Fill the Application Form and submit the same with necessary documents (mentioned in the Prospectus).
  3. Appear for the Selection Procedure on a scheduled date.

CANDIDATES FROM MUMBAI UNIVERSITY:

Candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s degree examination in any faculty of Mumbai University or an examination recognized by Association of Indian Universities.

Candidates must have acquired a minimum two years of work experience at supervisory or Executive level. Experience will be counted from the day subsequent to the last day of qualifying examination passed by the candidate. If the practical experience is in more than one company, separate Work Experience Certificate signed by the employer stating clearly the nature of work experience is to be submitted.

 

CANDIDATES FROM ANY OTHER UNIVERSITY:

Candidates who are graduates of other Universities will be required to produce a provisional statement of eligibility issued by the Registrar, the University of Mumbai declaring them eligible for admission to the course. The admission will only be confirmed after confirmation of their eligibility by the University of Mumbai.

For confirmation of eligibility, (a) Migration Certificate & Verification letter (b) Bachelor’s Degree Certificate and (c) Bachelor’s Degree mark list should be submitted to the University through the Institute latest by the end of the first semester.

Admission Procedure –

  1. The applicant must submit the prescribed application form along with necessary certificates on or before the due date.
  2. The applicant must appear for the selection programmes on the date of Entrance Exam.
  3. The selection will be done on the basis of Personal Interview (PI).

Direct Admission to 2nd Year –

Candidates who have passed the three-year part-time Master’s Degree programmes in

  1. Marketing Management
  2. Financial Management
  3. Information Management
  4. Human Resource Development Management

are permitted to register for the Master’s Degree Programme in the stream other than the one in which they have already passed, provided the candidates get selected through the selection process for the said stream pertaining to the academic year for which they are seeking registration and get approval from the University of Mumbai.

Such candidates will be granted exemption from appearing in the papers prescribed for the First Year and such candidates will be admitted to the Second Year of the stream directly. Such candidates will not be granted any exemptions in the common papers of the Second and Third years although they may have passed in them in the other stream.

Such candidates will be awarded only certificates to that effect after passing the Second Year and the Third year paper/project work of the stream.

Admission depends on the availability of the seats in the second year of the particular stream in which the candidate desires to take direct admission in the second year.

Candidates admitted in any of the part-time Master’s Degree Programme cannot claim transfer of his/her admission to another program under any circumstances after registration to a particular course.

Selection Criteria –

In selecting the candidate for admission, weightage will be given to

  1. The academic record of the candidate
  2. The level and nature of practical experience and
  3. Personal Interview: we are looking at a satisfactory and friendly exchange focused on identifying the potential for leadership.

Applicants are required to submit one attested copy of the following documents at the time of submitting the application form:

  • Mark-sheet of Bachelor’s Degree Examination
  • Any other University Degree and/or Professional Diploma if any
  • Work Experience Certificate
  • Character / Bonafide certificate

If at any stage it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him/her in the application is incorrect, his/her application for admission to the courses even if selected, stands canceled. Registered candidates are required to go through the Ordinance of the University of Mumbai concerning the conditions to be fulfilled for the successful completion of First, Second and Third year of the respective courses and award of the degree.

Examination, Re-Registration –

Examination, evaluation & standard of passing as per the rules of the University of Mumbai.

Candidates failing to keep the required attendance at lectures and/or obtaining less than 50% of the total marks assigned in any paper/s will be required to re-register for the said papers on the payment of relevant prescribed re-registration fees at the beginning of the semester.

Candidates failing in any subject in the first or second semester of the second and third-year examinations will be required to reappear in the supplementary examinations, as the case may be.

Fee Structure –

Interim fees for the first year subject to revision by Fees Approving Authorities.

Fees for a second & third year will be as per the notification of Fees Approving Authorities.

Lecture Timings –

For the 1st year – It is Friday evening, Saturday  (3.30 pm to 9 pm) and evening and Sunday (9.30 am to 7 pm)

From 2nd year – It is only Saturday afternoon and Sunday  9.30 am to 7 pm)

What is the Eligibility Criteria for these programs?

A candidate must have passed a Three Years Bachelor’s degree examination as per university rule from any UGC recognized University.

Candidate must have a minimum Two Years of Experience after graduation (Executive or Supervisory level).

What is the procedure for applying?

An application can be filled in two ways:-

  2. Admission form can also be purchased from the Institute Account office from Monday to Sunday from 09.30 am to 6.00 pm.
What is the form fee?

Form fee is Rs. 1,000/- which is non-refundable. Form fee is payable by CASH / Demand Draft / NEFT.

What photocopies are required to be submitted with the form?

In case of physical submission of Application, attach the below mentioned photocopies of documents.

In case of online submission of Application, scan the below mentioned original documents and upload it.

  1. Class X Mark sheet
  2. Class XII Mark sheet
  3. Graduation Mark sheet (Candidate who belongs to ‘Other than Mumbai University Category’ are required to bring a photocopy of all years/ semesters degree mark sheets)
  4. Degree and Passing Certificate
  5. Experience Certificate of 2 Years.
  6. A candidate is also required to submit TWO recent passport size color photographs along with the form
What is the admission procedure?
  1. Admission is based on the performance of Written essay writing and Personal Interview, both of which will be conducted by the Institute on the SAME DAY
What is the dress code for the Personal Interview?

Dress code is business formals.

It is suggested that Applicants avoid t-shirts, sleeveless tops, and skirts.

Course is of Three Years. There are total six semesters.
